• be attuned to give Reiki to yourself and others
• learn the basic Usui positions as well as learn to follow your intuition
• consider boundaries and ethics regarding energywork and touch in general
• become aware of the way you interact with Reiki energy
• learn tools for sensing, intuiting, and understanding the energy body

By the end of this class, you will be a Reiki I Practitioner.  If you are a bodywork practitioner, this class satisfies WA State Dept. of Health continuing education credits.

Thank you for visiting Rising Bird Healing Arts, my nexus of creativity and healing. As you may gather from visiting the pages on this site, I am not your average massage therapist.

I have often been called “The Creative Healer” because my approach to bodywork specifically, and healing in general, is creative in nature: the mind is a creative force that can help to heal the body and the messages we receive from the body–through sensation, imagery, or emotion–may not only relieve pain, stiffness, and tension, but may also help us understand our lives in a profound and meaningful way.

I am a Licensed Massage Practitioner and Reiki Master as well as an artist, writer, and teacher.  I combine these skills and experiences to create custom sessions for my clients that fit their needs. No two sessions are alike, for no two clients are alike. For instance, I may combine deep tissue massage for neck pain with some guided visualization, aromatherapy, and Reiki. Or I may ask you to draw your pain with crayons before a session or create a poem with my Healing Words Magnetic Poetry set.  In all, getting to know you well through deep listening is of paramount importance to me. And I may guide you in deepening your connection to your body’s wisdom as well.
